Scribbling my way around the globe is what I used to do.
Before. Pre-Pandemic.
Nowadays, I’m sequestered in Le Confining Apartment with Cuckoo (the Clock), engaging in unbelievably stimulating verbose with my Chardonnay sipping lockdown buddy, the Fly on the Wall. The conversations with the Mouse in the House bring yet another level of curiosity and intrigue to the table.
For Real.
For entertainment, we discourse with The Dictionary and play scrabble with Le Thesaurus. When Inspiration and Creativity grace our presence, then the fun and high-stakes games begin. Never ones to be left out, Pen and Paper contribute a word or two and Voilà, the printing press gets thrown into a frenzy, and quickly runs out of blank pages and ink.
My vintage typewriter spells out the rest of my tale.
I’m a writer, wordsmith, life-long learner, photographer and contemplative thinker. I’m not quite eccentric but do possess a handful of “oh so slightly” annoying (but adorable) quirks. Too many to document, but then, who’s counting? I’m a wee bit claustrophobic and have crafted ingenious plans on how to navigate around those dreaded tunnels and confining elevators. So, let’s just say, my travel restriction “issues” can easily challenge our current Lockdown ones. But, that’s an entirely different blog, one exclusively dedicated to avoiding small places and spaces.
By now, you might have surmised that I’m not fond of flying, but out of necessity I sometimes need to jet overseas every once in a blue moon. The least desirable option of swimming the ocean blue is not a viable one, as I don’t like water and I’m afraid of sharks.
The “No Go” list goes on and on and on. You can’t even imagine.
But, this is Now and the world has changed. Learning how to cope and navigate the new roadmaps of how to exist in uncertain times. So, that’s where reflection, contemplation and just-trying-to-figure-it-all-out come on in to help me make sense of it all.
These are my stories, snippets and snaps.
